Mark Smith is the Head of the Better Delivery Department (BDD) in DFID and the Head of Profession for Project Delivery. BDD works on the systems, guidance and capability necessary for DFID teams around the world to deliver programmes to reduce poverty and promote economic development. Prior to joining BDD, Mark worked in Nepal where he was the SRO for the emergency response to the 2015 earthquake. He has 20 years experience of implementing development programmes in Africa and Asia.
